Working from home is a luxury not available to all. However, to appreciate its many joys, you need the right space. In a major city like London, it’s hard to imagine setting up your office space anywhere but in the house. And for some, this can be a deal-breaker. We are here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be. Garden Office Pods London are the next level home offices, and even your limited garden space can accommodate them beautifully. If you want the full detached experience yet the comfort of proximity to the main house, this is your ideal home office. They are futuristic, flexible in design, self-contained, and even be eco-friendly if you want to be a more responsible citizen.

  • An office in your garden means the shortest commute in the world. It also means flexible work hours as you don’t have to catch that 8 O’clock train.
  • It is the least distracting option for work from home. You are not susceptible to everyday household noises.
  • It is a dedicated space for work, equipped for it and furnished for it. You won’t find your documents moved, cleared away, or tampered with by children.
  • If you want fresh air and more openness to the natural environment, you can open the doors and work. It is one of the luxuries you can’t have in a conventional office.
  • You are safe from sudden interruptions during phone calls. Confidential and sensitive information can remain secure without lying about the house.
  • Say goodbye to office politics. You are free from conflicts, stresses, and unhealthy work relations with co-workers.
  • If you altogether abandon it as a home office in the future, it can convert into a playroom, a yoga studio, a summer house, or even a small recording studio.
  • A garden office adds 5% -7% to your property value in London.

Multiple zones – garden buildings of generous proportions can include a kitchenette, dining area, and a space to relax. You can even include a seating area outside. If you have a swimming pool, this can sit at its far corner.

Eco friendly – wood is a sustainable material, and double glazing can cut down your heating bills.

Secret Retreat

Garden roof – with foliage and flowers dropping to the sides, you are creating a wildlife-friendly hideout that blends in with your garden.

Living wall – with stunning wallflowers and vines, you can hide the walls of your garden office. It also adds to the natural environment you sacrifice by building a garden office.

It is a small-scale building you can use as your home office located in your garden detached from the main house. The compact design of garden pods enables them to fit in almost every garden. You can build one that is big as 50% the size of the garden area to one small as 2.5m X 2.5m. If the structure is not on listed building grounds and not in a conservation area, as long as it is less than 2.5m in height, you do not need planning permission. You can even include a WC and a mini-kitchen to go self-sufficient. By moving the pod to the far corner of the garden, you are keeping much of the garden space free. It also allows you to put a sizable distance between the house and your office unit, creating a more peaceful and less-distracting environment.

Small garden office pods

Shape – it doesn’t have to be box shape. You can even go for a more sci-fi round look or an igloo look. Contemporary garden room designs offset the sizes due to their striking appearance.

Corner – small garden studios look more amalgamated in a corner with landscaping around it. Medium-sized plants on either side bring a natural quality to these.

Ying to the Yang – darker colours work well with smaller pods. Using black, metallic grey, or dark green set against glass doors can camouflage proportion sizes. Equally, white with gold or silver bordering set against glass bi-fold doors can bring a more airy and clean look to garden offices.

Concertina window – offers better views and ventilation, convenience, more functionality, and better aesthetics than square windows. The design allows you to put up wall shelves and fit cupboards for storage.

Our practical bespoke garden office designs create affordable space solutions for your budget, needs, and your garden proportions. We add innovative design features that offer individual solutions for each client and each property. The garden rooms seamlessly blend with the surrounding environment, so they are in harmony with your outdoors. We coordinate with local authorities and submit all pre-build applications. You will only sign one contract at a time with our Design and Build phases.

Downstairs bathroom

A second or a third bathroom never goes to waste when you have a big family. Include a swanky skylight for the shower area, and you might even be looking at a bath if the size permits.

Brick wall

By exposing the brickwork of your new wall or even using fancier bricks for the purpose, you can still retain the garden wall look. Introduce house plants and wall plants along with skylights, and you will create a pleasant outdoorsy feel for dining.

Pave the way

By extending the floor of the extension to the immediate garden area, you are creating an illusion of a larger space. Add a garden table and chairs or a comfy bench in the paved area. Divide the two areas by a glass window or wall with a discreet frame.

Don't move. Extend in style

We can save you the hassle that comes with moving not to mention the heavy stamp duty! Adding an extra loft bedroom or enlarging the living kitchen dining space on ground floor is an economical way of transforming your home to suit growing needs. The projects can range from £40-100K depending on your requirements and can be completed within 8-16 weeks.

How we deliver projects

Our process is simple and divided into two distinct phases with separate contracts: Design and Build. As a client you only commit to one phase at a time depending on what stage of the process you are in. Each phase consists of three stages as described below.

1. Design

This is the kick-off point for your project. We carry out a complete architectural measured survey of the property. This allows us to create accurate CAD design drawings. This is followed by a design meeting to start discussing your ideas in more detail.

2. Planning

At this stage we finalise the designs with you and start preparing planning applications as needed. We place a high priority on ensuring that plans, designs and schedules are all based on a thorough and detailed understanding of planning guidelines. We co-ordinate with local authorities until the decision is made, and the planning approval is secured.

3. Technical

Once the planning consent is secured, we translate the design drawings into more detailed technical drawings for the purposes of building control and construction. This also includes specifications and structural calculations. At this stage, we will also submit to you our ‘no obligation’ quote for the build phase.

4. Pre-build

90% of our clients decide to stick with us after the design phase is completed. Once the build contract is signed, we kick off the process by making sure all the pre-build processes are complete. These include assistance with party wall agreements, Thames Water build over agreement, submitting building control application, and preparing method statements etc as needed. This stage ends with a pre-start meeting with your foreman before the actual build begins.

5. Build

One of our foremen will be dedicated to your project and will be on-site to manage everyday works. Our project managers will be overseeing the works to make sure they are completed to high standards, within your budget and on time. Throughout the process we will keep you updated with the progress and coordinate the works with third parties such as kitchen or flooring suppliers. We will also advise and guide you to choose any suppliers if needed.

6. Handover

As the build draws to finish, we will help to iron out any ‘snags’ to make sure everything is completed to your satisfaction. We will put together all necessary certificates such as gas, electricity and building control completion along with warranties for glazing, boiler etc. At the final completion meeting, we will hand you these documents, together with the keys to your house. Needless to say, you can contact us any time after this, if you want us to look at something.
