The UK leaves the European Union on the 29th of March 2019. What does this mean for my renovation project? What happens to the team working on my conversion after the UK leaves the EU?

Why any Brexit outcome will not impact your loft conversion project

The UK leaves the European Union on the 29th of March 2019.

What does this mean for my renovation project?

What happens to the team working on my conversion after the UK leaves the EU?

These are the most frequently posed question when we speak to homeowners.

For many people in London, continued access to workers will allow your loft conversion dreams to come true.

It is a wise business strategy, that we fully understand all the implications of any decisions made in Westminster. We have built a business based on reliability and professionalism and we make it our responsibility to stay informed. This allows us to answer all of your questions and help reduce any anxiety or fears you might have, relating to your kitchen conversion or loft extension.

Business as usual

Before we go into any further detail let Good Design & Build put you at ease. Any preparation, planned, on-going or future work will not be impacted.

Good Design & Build have excellent business relationships with a large supply of building teams and have the assurance that there are no plans for any of them to leave Britain, post-Brexit. In fact, we are growing and in the exciting process of increasing our workforce and hiring more builders.

Panic over! We can assure you, measuring the height of your attic to ensure it is at least 2.2m’s, checking if your roof trusses and rafters, or considering the rooms below and where the staircase to the loft conversion will go, will not be in vain.

The clock is ticking – tell me why my loft conversion will not be impacted?

With less than 60 days to go is a no-deal Brexit likely?

Irrespective to what happens on the 29th March, the workers’ rights of any foreign national who has been diligently working on your loft conversion for the last few months will not impacted.

Ministers involved in the implementation of the vote, say the European Union (Withdrawal) Act will continue to protect workers’ rights once we leave the EU. This means that the EU standards for equality, employment and health and safety standards will remain in place on the 30th March.

It would be unfair for us to report to you the long term implications. Once out of the EU Westminster can alter any of the rights they desire. However, this will not happen overnight and not any time soon. Whatever, the future holds, it will take time to phase in, allowing Good Design & Build plenty of time and opportunity to ensure our vast supply of workers remain robust.

Is my projects with Good Design & Build safe to continue?

At Good Design & Build we have built our reputation on managing the process from start to finish and in the smoothest way. We understand that ensuring a deep pool of workforce is imperative to what we do. Put simply your loft conversion can continue to progress no matter what stage of the process.

We have not noticed issues with any of the period projects that we are working on. In fact, we are experiencing increased enquiries from homeowners wanting to extend their properties.

You can continue to fall in love with living again.
