Set on a particularly scenic section of the Grand Canal, this major university town is also home to some “outstanding” schools rated by Ofsted. Living in Uxbridge means plenty of riverside walks, easy travel links, and golfing. It is a family area with staying power. People do not move unless they have to. Thanks to Loft Conversions Uxbridge, you might never have to move. We build stunning, functional, versatile spaces that can optimise space and property value.

Loft conversions can create additional living space on the roof without expanding the original footprint of your property. They utilise the often neglected loft spaces, more prominent in Victorian and 1930s homes, to turn them into livable areas. High-quality loft conversions can significantly boost a property’s value. They are also the cost-effective option for upsizing. Depending on the type of loft conversion you choose or that suits your property, you can add anything from a luxurious en suite to a quiet living room.

Rooflight Loft Conversions – also known as Velux Conversions, this simple and cost-effective method utilises roof windows to create a living space. They don’t require changes to the roof structure; therefore, sufficient head height is necessary to carry out these conversions.

Dormer Loft Conversions – they alter the roof structure by extending the roof vertically to add more headroom and usable floor space. Dormer windows afford natural light and aesthetics. They can have either flat roofs or pitched roofs.

Hip-to-Gable Loft Conversions – these conversions replace the sloping side of a hipped roof with a vertical gable wall. This design allows for better head height and functional floor area impeded by the hip ends of the roof. It is an ideal choice for 1930s semi-detached and end-of-terrace homes.

L-shaped Loft Conversions – achieved by placing two dormers at a right angle to each other, they create two rooms, perfect for an en suite. Commonly integrated into Victorian properties with a rear outrigger, you can use a half dormer for the rear to incorporate a balcony.

Mansard Loft Conversions – useful for generous space creation, or open-plan layouts, they make sizable alterations to the entire roof plane. The roof’s original pitch gets altered, and the rear wall gets extended. They have a nearly flat roof with a rear wall that slopes inwards at an angle of approximately 72 degrees.

Your loft conversion cost is based on varying factors, such as the type of conversion, size, design features, structural complexities, and materials used. We offer a personalised and itemised free quote with full cost transparency. Call today to find out how much bespoke loft conversions in Uxbridge cost.

Loft conversions are cost-effective and value-generating home improvements that should only be carried out by loft conversion specialists. DIY projects have negative long-term impacts, such as lawsuits, demolitions, fines, and serious property value devaluations. You may not be aware of all the planning permission requirements or building regulations. Converting your loft should never be a solo task. Well-designed lofts with pleasing aesthetics and sound structural integrity take a team of experts to achieve. Architects, structural engineers, builders, and project managers ensure a streamlined affair. Only structural engineers can make accurate calculations and assess safety and specifications. A loft conversion company can address all these and help you create stylish, comfortable, and functional spaces.

We bring years of expertise in Victorian and 1930s home loft conversions with a design-dominant creative process. Our in-house architects create bespoke designs tailored to your property and preferences. Our creative concepts are bright, versatile, contemporary, and practical. Your loft conversion will have both aesthetic appeal and high ROI. To make visualisation more realistic, we utilise the latest VR technology to create 3D models of our designs.

Our design and build phases operate under separate contracts, allowing you to explore options without immediately committing to the build stage. However, many of our clients choose to proceed with the entire project.

We maintain high standards throughout, from material selection to efficient completion. Our team has extensive knowledge of building regulations, planning permission guidelines, and Party Wall Agreements. They ensure all pre-build requisites get fulfilled. Each GDB project is assigned a dedicated project manager who coordinates and oversees the work, ensuring accountability, flexibility, and reliability from beginning to end. Our highly skilled and efficient build team completes projects on time.

The cost of a loft conversion varies depending on the type of conversion you choose, the volume of square footage, and the specific design features that get added. More complex structural changes will require additional work and resources. The materials used for construction and finishes will also affect the overall cost. We offer a free consultation service where you can discuss your expectations and requirements with us. We will provide you with an itemised, no-obligation quote.

We offer comprehensive loft conversion services that include bespoke designs drawn by professional architects and high-quality construction. Our team of planning experts handles all necessary applications for planning permission, while our structural engineers submit building control applications and assist with Party Wall Agreements. We also prepare method statements and collaborate with local authorities and third-party suppliers to ensure unimpeded design and build processes. Our completed projects come with insurance-backed warranties, and we make sure to address any last-minute snags to deliver your new space on time and to your satisfaction. Each loft conversion in Uxbridge is assigned its own project manager to oversee every detail.

In most cases, loft conversions do not need planning permission as they are permitted developments. However, it’s important to note that certain types of loft conversions and design components may require planning permission. Additionally, if you live in a conservation area or a listed building, there are limitations to your PD rights.

How we deliver projects

Our process is simple and divided into two distinct phases with separate contracts: Design and Build. As a client you only commit to one phase at a time depending on what stage of the process you are in. Each phase consists of three stages as described below.

1. Design

This is the kick-off point for your project. We carry out a complete architectural measured survey of the property. This allows us to create accurate CAD design drawings. This is followed by a design meeting to start discussing your ideas in more detail.

2. Planning

At this stage we finalise the designs with you and start preparing planning applications as needed. We place a high priority on ensuring that plans, designs and schedules are all based on a thorough and detailed understanding of planning guidelines. We co-ordinate with local authorities until the decision is made, and the planning approval is secured.

3. Technical

Once the planning consent is secured, we translate the design drawings into more detailed technical drawings for the purposes of building control and construction. This also includes specifications and structural calculations. At this stage, we will also submit to you our ‘no obligation’ quote for the build phase.

4. Pre-build

90% of our clients decide to stick with us after the design phase is completed. Once the build contract is signed, we kick off the process by making sure all the pre-build processes are complete. These include assistance with party wall agreements, Thames Water build over agreement, submitting building control application, and preparing method statements etc as needed. This stage ends with a pre-start meeting with your foreman before the actual build begins.

5. Build

One of our foremen will be dedicated to your project and will be on-site to manage everyday works. Our project managers will be overseeing the works to make sure they are completed to high standards, within your budget and on time. Throughout the process we will keep you updated with the progress and coordinate the works with third parties such as kitchen or flooring suppliers. We will also advise and guide you to choose any suppliers if needed.

6. Handover

As the build draws to finish, we will help to iron out any ‘snags’ to make sure everything is completed to your satisfaction. We will put together all necessary certificates such as gas, electricity and building control completion along with warranties for glazing, boiler etc. At the final completion meeting, we will hand you these documents, together with the keys to your house. Needless to say, you can contact us any time after this, if you want us to look at something.
